Heaven Hill has expanded their Larceny brand with the introduction of the barrel proof version. As noted on the label, this is batch “A” being released in January (1) 2020 (20). Other batches and releases are announced. The key on the bottle and the name reference to the John Fitzgerald story who was believed to be a treasury agent that stole bourbon out of barrels he liked for his personal use. When it became time to dump the barrels for bottling, some seemed to be lighter than others. They were also smoother and the rumor that they were dipped into already, gave them the name “Fitzgerald Barrels”
Chris’s Review

Smell:
Butterscotch with a smoky toasted aroma.
Taste:
More of the toasted oak is there with cinnamon and cornbread.
Finish: Hot 8
Long lingering of oak, cinnamon and even some cloves making a tingling journey up the lips and tongue.
Notes:
This is what you would expect from a sweet bourbon barrel proof. Not real complex flavors but I keep coming back for another sip. Defiantly a good hit from Heaven Hill on this one.
Not easy to find, you may have to ask your favorite store to keep and eye out for you. The distillery has mentioned 3 batches released each year. This is the first.
